What is Forest Therapy?
Inspired by Forest Bathing or Shinrin-Yoku, Forest Therapy is a therapeutic
practice that guides people to a state of relaxation and sensory restoration
through doing a series of sensory oriented invitations. It is a gentle practice that typically takes place in an area of a forest or along a nature trail for a duration of 1.5 - 3 hours and approximately 500 meters long while walking a very slow pace with frequent pauses. There will be a forest tea and light snack at the end of the walk. The practice supports the health of both humans and forests. Each walk is a unique experience!
What to expect ?

The Forest Therapy Guide will offer a series of invitations for you to explore and
connect with your natural surroundings. Each invitation is followed by the opportunity to
deepen the invitation’s experience. Each experience is individual and unique. These
sensory-based invitations are an opportunity to slow down, feel relaxed, gain personal
insights and activate your body’s parasympathetic nervous system inducing relaxation and stress release. Forest Therapy engages in activities that require minimal physical exertion. You do not need to be nature 'savvy' to experience the benefits. The intention is to quiet your mind, awaken your senses and deepen your connection with yourself and the more than human world.
A Walk can be adapted to fit a variety of
different needs. You will have a different experience with each walk and many participants embrace multiple walks on a regular basis (either private or public walks).
